 Integrated circuit - Encyclopedia.WorldSearch
Integrated circuits can be classified into analog, digital and mixed signal (both analog and digital on the same chip).
LSI circuits began to be produced in large quantities around 1970, for computer main memories and pocket calculators.
In the 1980s programmable integrated circuits were developed.

 Circuit Builder
These will all be two-input and one output circuits (except for NOT, which will be one input and one output).
Your task is to design a printed circuit board that implements the robot circuit you produced in problem 8.
When you link to the circuit builder you will be asked to specify the number of inputs and outputs--that will be determined, of course, by the problem.

 electric circuit on Encyclopedia.com
Operating electric circuits can be used for general problem solving (as in an analog computer).
When two circuit elements are connected in series, their effective resistance (impedance if the circuit is being fed alternating current) is equal to the sum of the separate resistances; the current is the same in each component throughout the circuit.
A simple circuit might consist of an electric cell (the power source), two conducting wires (one end of each being attached to each terminal of the cell), and a small lamp (the load) to which the free ends of the wires leading from the cell are attached.

Ziptronix Appoints Phil Nyborg As New CEO; Semiconductor Industry Veteran Tapped to Commercialize Proprietary Technology for Three-Dimensional Integrated Circuits.
The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for input, output, and power-supply connections, and for other connections that may be necessary when the device is put to use.
Integrated circuits can be classified into two groups based on the type of transistors they contain.

NewsForge Circuit City moving to Linux
In a press release sent to NewsForge (and probably every other media outlet in the world) yesterday, IBM announced that consumer electronics retailer Circuit City expects to be running most of its critical day-to-day computing functions on Linux by 2006.
By employing the IBM Retail Environment for SUSE Linux at the point of sale, Circuit City will have the flexibility and reliability of open standards, enabling Circuit City to adapt quickly to changes in the retail marketplace and to cost-effectively institute future upgrades to the platform.
This release may include forward-looking statements, which are subject to risks and uncertainties, including without limitation (1) Circuit City's ability to successfully integrate the new systems into its retail business; and (2) increases in the costs associated with implementation or maintenance of the new technology.

 VGA to RGB+sync converter
I have designed a circuit board for my VGA to TV converter and this same PCB design (GIF picture scanned at 300x300 dots/inc resolution, also available in zipped postscript file format) and component layout can be used with this project also.
First circuit is for connecting VGA card to video projector or a monitor which accept VGA card frequencies and has RGB + Composite sync input (1 Vpp signal level, 75 ohm input impedance).
The circuit have been also used succesfully with one old Barco video projector using my VGA to TV drivers to get the VGA card to generate suitable signal frequencies which that old video projector can handle.

 CIRCUIT
he only drawback with this circuit is that it might latch in the conducting state if the load is too heavy or if there is a short at the output, this requires some kind of protection, on the input line, in the form of a fuse or similar.
Circuit (b) will oscillate at a very low frequency, normally 2-5Hz, provided the voltage is increased very slowly, loading is critical and you may find that a slightly different lamp will work better.
The 68nF capacitor introduces a small delay in the operation of the flash and may help in getting the picture in exactly the right moment although you should expect to take several shots for best results.

The binary counts are decoded into 1 of 12 outputs by the 74HCT138 decoders and operates the same way as in the 28 LED clock circuit.
This circuit is basically the same as the 10 channel LED sequencer with the addition of solid state relays to control the AC lamps.
In the single stage circuit, using one lamp, the capacitor charges through the resistor until the ionization potential of the neon is reached (about 70 volts) and then discharges quickly through the lamp until the voltage falls below what is needed to sustain the lamp which is approximately 45 volts.

In-circuit emulator - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In-circuit emulation can also refer to the use of hardware emulation, when the emulator is plugged into a system (not always embedded) in place of a yet-to-be-built chip (not always a processor).
An in-circuit emulator (ICE) also called on-circuit debugger (OCD) or background debug module (BDM) is a hardware device used to debug the software of an embedded system.
The basic idea of an "in-circuit emulator" is that it provides a window into the embedded system.

 Switching technology
The circuit identifier (a range of frequencies in FDM or a time slot position in a TDM frame) is changed by each switch at forwarding time so that switches do not need to have a complete knowledge of all circuits established in the network but rather only local knowledge of available identifiers at a link.
Since circuit switching allocates a fixed path for each flow, circuits can be established according to traffic engineering algorithms.
In circuit switching, forwarding tables are hardwired or implemented using fast hardware, making data forwarding at each switch almost instantaneous.

Emulator - definition of Emulator in Encyclopedia
Emulating these on modern desktop computers is usually less cumbersome than relying on the original machine, which may be inoperational.
Apart from this interpreter for the emulated machine's language, some other hardware (such as input or output devices) must be provided in virtual form as well: if writing to a specific memory location should influence the screen, for example, this will have to be emulated as well.
A common form of emulation is that of a software emulator, a piece of computer software that allows certain computer programs to run on a platform (computer architecture and/or operating system) other than the one they were originally written for.

OOPic Programmers Guide: CHAPTER 3 - Your first Virtual Circuit
Virtual Circuits are created by progmatically linking together a set of OOPic Objects in the same methodology as one would physically link together a set of electronic components.
For our First Virtual Circuit, an oGate Object will be used to update an oDio1 Object's Value property to the value of the OOPic.
A Virtual Circuit is a function in an OOPic that appears to be a physical discrete electronic circuit, but is actually the OOPic operating system emulating the functionality of the circuit.

A well-designed analog circuit may have an efficiency of 5%, but an equally well-designed switching circuit which might accomplish the same task can achieve better than 99%.
These fast transients are what create most of our noise problems in circuits to begin with because they generate stray fields which can affect nearby circuitry.
When transistor became viable, some switching was tried, but switching circuits are far more complex than their analog counterparts, not the least because rates of change of current (the energy conversion between potential and energy of motion) are critical and very high in a switching circuit, as are rates of change of voltage.
