 Superior Audio Requires Fixed-Point DSP
Often the result of this multiply-and-add is the starting point for the next calculation, so it forms a running total, or an accumulation, of all the results over time.
The double precision available in the fixed point processor helps the programmer to avoid these problems.
An example is the best way to explain how you lose precision when floating-point processors scale data.

 M3000 Homework #27
Such points are in A, so x is an accumulation point of A. These points are also in B, so x is an accumulation point of B. Thus, x is in the intersection of A' and B'.
Consider a point x in A which is not an accumulation point of A. There exists an open neighborhood about x which contains no other point of A, call it N. If x is an accumulation point of c(A) then N must contain a point of A' other than x.
By assumption, z is not in A, so these elements can not equal z, i.e., they are in the interval (b, z) which is contained in N. Thus, every neighborhood of z contains points of A (distinct from z), so z is an accumulation point.

Talk:Limit point - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
So, I suggest that limit point be used for what it is currently, and "accumulation point" for infinitely many (which is not the same as simply distinct -- consider Sierpinski space I believe).
The problem is that by defining limit point and accumulation point to mean the same thing, then all the articles and examples that involve non-T1 spaces immediately lose a piece of terminology to lose.
In other words, if articles have been using "accumulation point" when they really meant "limit point", there's no need to go back and change everything, or even to mention the distinction, so long as the articles in question are only discussing T1 spaces.

The point 0 is the only accumulation point of the set.
But then the point 1/n which is different from 0, is also part of the neighborhood, and hence 0 is not isolated.

 What is an Accumulation Point?
Accumulation point - an accumulation point not located at the point of generation; typically a holding area prior to shipping.
Satellite Accumulation Point - this is located at or near the site of generation, whether it's a laboratory, shop, or other process.

And when you have finished accumulating (point 3), you can see the length of the period from cycle points 3 to 5 (start of distribution) is much longer in a rising trend, and shorter in a falling trend, than the end of a distribution zone (point 7) to the next point of accumulation (point 1).
So Accumulation can also refer to a strategy over a time frame, whereas a Buy is a tactic at a point in time.

For the solution of problems with exact point data with guaranteed high accuracy, fixed-point accumulation in a long accumulator is often required and clearly superior to floating-point accumulation.
Highly accurate problem solving routines for problems with exact point data (of infinite accuracy) therefore, are worth-while.
By the same argumentation that demands one long accumulator for real point problems, two long accumulators are suitably used for complex point problems.

Limit point - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A prototypical example of a limit point is an accumulation point, which is the limit of a sequence [1].
In mathematics, informally speaking, a limit point (or cluster point) of a set S in a topological space X is a point x in X that can be "approximated" by points of S other than x as well as one pleases.
Another proof: Let S be a closed set and x a limit point of S.
