 Commodore Amiga 1000 computer
The Amiga was originally designed to be a killer game machine, but it was so great that it grew into a real computer.
It is essentially an Amiga 2000 with a 2630 Accelerator Board (25-MHz 68030 and 68882 math coprocessor).

 Status Register 10-95
Amiga Technologies has 10 years of Amiga development legacy in their lap.
My evaluation of the situation is that there's a company that knows how to reach the Amiga community better than Amiga Technologies.
According to Gilles Bourdin of Amiga Technologies (gbo@lisa.amiga-tech.de), Service Management Group, the company that provided warranty service for Amigas in the US, will have non-exclusive North American distribution for the remainder of 1995.

In addition to the conventional AmigaOS, the A2500 could be purchased with Commodore Amiga UNIX, commonly known as Amix.
The Amiga 2500 is really just an A2000 which was supplied with either a Commodore A2620 or a Commodore A2630 processor card, and a hard drive controller which was the Commodore A2090 or A2091.

Commodore 64 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The C64's programs may still be run today even if one lacks the hardware, due to an abundance of software emulators for Amiga, Atari, Mac, MSDOS, Win32 and Linux systems.
Atari ST and Commodore Amiga were released in the mid-80s.
An Apple II+ emulator called The Spartan, manufactured by Mimic Systems Inc., was available for the C-64 but never gained much popularity.

 The Jargon file
This new version casts a wider net than the old Jargon File; its aim is to cover not just AI or PDP-10 hacker culture but all the technical computing cultures wherein the true hacker-nature is manifested.
More than half of the entries now derive from USENET and represent jargon now current in the C and UNIX communities, but special efforts have been made to collect jargon from other cultures including IBM PC programmers, Amiga fans, Mac enthusiasts, and even the IBM mainframe world.

My First Computer Acts of Volition
After owning an Amiga 500 for a few years (and going through a RAM upgrade from 1/2 Mb to 1Mb that cost me £25 (approx $40)) I once said that the IBM-compatible PC would never displace the higher-end Amigas.
Over time I also got a tape deck and a 5 1/4 " disc drive, which I would use to store the programs I wrote in BASIC.
