The first thought in most people's minds when they hear of a GM Tradeskiller is that they have deep pockets and a lot of time.
Just a note, That with the way the tradeskill UI searches for recipes if something is way out of your skill class.
My only problem was initially figuring out how to get the high level recipes into the ui list.

The cheapest way out is to buy a 33 quart porcelean on steel canning kettle at the local hardware store.
You could make an immersion chiller as per the kinds of instructions you mention finding on the web, or buy one.
Roy Strohl's Modifications: I made the base with a socket for the upright part of the tree so I could separate the base and upright for storage.
