Binary image - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A binary image is a digital image that has only two possible values for each pixel.
A binary image is usually stored in memory as a bitmap, a packed array of bits.
A binary image is also a compiled version of source code in Linux and Unices

Binary Translation 1 Abstract Binary translation is a technique used to change an executable program for one computer architecture and operating system into an executable program for a different computer architecture and operating system.
A translated binary program is a sequence of new-architecture instructions that reproduce the behavior of an old-architecture program.
The idea of binary translation is becoming more common in the computer industry, as various other companies start on their transitions to 64-bit architectures.

However, one of the binary images, for example the image 16c, resulting from the division of the binary image of high weight corresponds to a binary image where the pixels are stored per group of four pixels.
The division of the binary image of highest weight 128 is decomposed into a conventionally stored specific binary image of weight 64 and into a common binary image of weight 64 which is stored per group of pixels.
At least one binary image is stored per group of at least two pixels of like binary value, and the device comprises duplication means which duplicate the pixels of the image stored per group of pixels during display.

These images can be used as input to a recognition system and the ASCII output file compared to the reference file.
For example, the binary images in this database are black text on a white background and the value of the white pixels is 0.
For a binary image a white has a pixel value of 0 and black has a pixel value of 1.

Automated Page Orientation and Skew Angle Detection for Binary Document Images
The term binary image refers to a two-dimensional binary function f(i,j), whose value is either 0 or 1, where i and j denote vertical and horizontal coordinates of the pixel respectively, and where the coordinates origin is located at the top left corner of the image.
The algorithm segments a binary image into objects, creates a simplified binary image from the original binary image and applies the Hough transform on the simplified binary image to determine the skew angle.
By dividing a binary image into squares in the page orientation case and using the bottom pixels of candidate objects in the skew angle case, our system of algorithms is able to reduce the inclusion of non-textual data and thus to increase the detection accuracy rate.

For images scanned at 300 ppi binary, 3x scale-to-gray generates a 100 ppi grayscale image, which is comfortable to read on most computer screens.
Class 3 (binary --> grayscale) is also known as "scale-to-gray." It is typically used when the image is being dowscaled from a high resolution binary scan for viewing on a lower resolution grayscale or color display, and for typical scan and display resolutions, the 3x and 4x reductions are the most useful.
You can apply a lowpass filter before subsampling, which for binary images could be a thresholding function implementing a rank order filter.

Merging binary images together, BIN2AOF & INCBIN
When creating scatter loaded images with multiple load regions, instead of using fromelf to generate the plain binary images (which you then have to join together), you can simply use the debugger to create a single plain binary image from the ELF file.
Another approach is to convert the binary data files into AOF objects, which can then be 'intelligently' linked together by armlink.
For example, you may have two binary images (created from a scatter file which specifies two load regions) which need joining together to blow onto a single ROM.

Shape Preserving Digitization of Ideal and Blurred Binary Images
First, we characterize the set of binary images which can be correctly digitized by both regular and irregular sampling grids, such that not only topology is preserved but also the Hausdorff distance between the original image and the reconstruction is bounded.
Second, we prove an analogous theorem for gray scale images that arise from blurring of binary images with a certain filter type.
In order to make image analysis methods more reliable it is important to analyse to what extend shape information is preserved during image digitization.
