These are switching amps, not digital amps and take an analog input.
Recently I've been reading various comments in threads about amps and other equipment to the effect that CES demo rooms are somehow set up in ways that consumers can't or shouldn't duplicate and yet company spoksmen disclose these factoids.

Digital power amps used in music and audio
Though some manufacturers refer to Class-D amps with digital inputs as “pure digital,” don't be bamboozled.
They are digital in the binary sense, but pulse width modulation (PWM) power amps are more in the delta sigma vein of DSD than the brute force approach taken by PCM.
When the supply rails reach their limits, Class-D amps tend to compress rather than clip, but the power supply's current capability is what shapes the amplifier's overload behavior to which it's attached.

Digital Audio: Amps, Preamps & Receivers
In fact, specific features have been designed into iBiquity Digital’s IBOC technology to improve the existing analog reception during the “hybrid mode.” As the market reaches maturity, broadcasters are expected to transition out of analog broadcasts and offer “all-digital mode” in much the same way that television stations did with black-and-white programming.
The dual approach is needed because, with digital broadcasting, there’s no such thing as receiving a degraded digital signal.
IBOC technology lets broadcasters deliver simultaneous analog and digital versions of the same program on their assigned frequencies.

digital amps... Is all the rave reviews real??? - AVS Forum
You mention the match between speaker and amp interface is 'first order' in terms of the sound - what is the mechanism/parameter that is the issue (I agree in general amps/speakers have matching issues - is this generic or specific to these amps?)
Coming back to the subject, I think, digital amps are not exaggertating the attack, but I think the decay is not that good (in comparison with high-end audiophile analog amps).
Also its digital software will be able to correct for any technical issues due to mechanical driver interaction..

Class AB Class AB amps are quite similar to Class B in that they use separate devices and sections for the positive and negative halves of the signal.
Many have noted that the difference between amps of similar specifications and measurements, operated within their designed power range, is often inaudible, regardless of the technology.
Where Class AB differs from Class B is that the output devices never turn off at the zero level.

Any one interested in switching amps ought to go back and read some of the original papers by Brian Attwood, Gerald Stanley, and the papers by Karsten Nielsen.

Digital power amps could mean digital or switching power supply with a normal solid state output stage.

Though analog is no longer considered advanced at all, the relatively seamless cellular switching technology AMPS introduced was what made the original mobile radiotelephone practical, and was considered quite advanced at the time.
AMPS and TDMA are now being phased out in favor of either CDMA and GSM which allows for more capacity and newer technologies such as WAP, Multimedia Messaging High-Speed Internet Access.
