Core War was in part inspired by a game called Darwin, written by Victor A. Vyssotsky, Robert Morris Sr.
Core War (or Core Wars) is a programming game in which two or more battle programs (called warriors) compete for the control of the MARS virtual computer (Memory Array Redcode Simulator).
Core clears are not very common as stand-alone warriors, but they are often used as an end-game strategy by bombers and scanners.
