Data General developed a wide range languages for the Nova computers running under a range of consistent operating systems.
Data General itself would later evolve into a vendor of Intel processor-based servers and storage arrays, eventually being purchased by EMC.
Edson deCastro was the Product Manager at Digital Equipment (DEC) of their pioneering PDP-8, a 12-bit computer generally considered by most to be the first true minicomputer.

Paul Hensel's General International Data Page
EUGene Software: Expected Utility Generation and data management program, written by D. Scott Bennett and Allan Stam; this is a Windows-only program that generates data sets for the study of international conflict, with a variety of commonly used variables.
This data set is important for scholars attempting to code historical data, as many older source materials use country names that are no longer used or understood, meaning that coders might ignore or mis-code data.
Physical Geography and Population data: From Harvard's Center for International Development geography data web page; documentation is available in Microsoft Word format, and the data is available in comma-delimited and Stata formats.

Handling Logged Data (General Usability Resources) - Information & Design
If the data set is small, you may be able to analyse it simply by reading, and you can manipulate the materials online to gain an understanding of them.
Keeping data storage as 'granular' as possible supports future use of the data in ways that are not yet foreseen
The precise format depends on the type of data you have collected, but in any case each notation should be uniquely identifiable.

Welcome to Wild Hare Computer Systems
This compatibility is so precise that even the original Data General hardware diagnostics run on the new platform just as they do on the DG hardware.
We are obsessed with preserving the legacy of Data General in minicomputer history, and have projects that salvage, restore, and archive DG hardware, software, documentation, newsletters, sales brochures, internal memos - basically "anything DG".
Since the legacy software "thinks" it is still running on the original hardware, it runs the same way on the new platform as it does on the DG system, only faster.

As you might know if you've read The Soul of a New Machine by Tracy Kidder, Data General's first successful computer product was called the "NOVA" (introduced 24 Jan 1969).

Among the thin servers Data General is working on is a Web server the size of a floppy drive that could be embedded in another device to offer access to the Internet, West said.
In a somewhat bold move, Data General is staying away from industry-standard technology with many of its future thin servers.
Such a thin server, which runs an embedded operating system, would act as the piece between the user interface and data stored on a back-end server, West explained, performing functions such as connecting to the Internet as the end-user device is turned on.
