 Phonetic fonts - Bruce Hayes
Like Gentium, this font is Unicode, so you don't have to switch back and forth between fonts, and can also do various foreign languages with the same font.
Another phonetic font is the new Gentium font, also available for free download from SIL.
Doulos SIL matches the Times font that most people use for their word processing, which is nice if that's what you're used to.

A great number, however, are people who have read about Gentium because of the design awards it has received and want to use it for publishing in English and other mainstream languages.
Victor Gaultney: Gentium is one way in which we are trying to eliminate the Digital Divide.
For years, we in SIL have developed fonts, keyboards, and conversion systems for writing systems around the world, with a focus on those peoples underserved by the major software companies.

Unicode (as of version 3.2, early 2002) differentiates between this koppa (epigraphical) and the numerical koppa; this does not affect the TLG data bank, since the Beta Code distinction between the two koppas is no longer observed.

 Magisterium of Vatican II
By itself, the text of Lumen Gentium is only ambiguous or male sonans: that is, two readings are possible, by reason of the improper terms used, and therefore is able to be interpreted in a heterodox manner.
We find this consequence of the personalist error plainly declared in Lumen Gentium, 8:
Therefore the assertion of Lumen Gentium, taken in its complete meaning as given to us by all of the "conciliar magisterium," is heretical.

 Victor Gaultney and Gentium Typographica
I certianly wouldn’t mind adding Gentium to my list of usable text faces if he did!
Unfortunately, unless I’m just not looking in the right file/unicode positions, it seems to lack text numerals.
The design and purpose of his multilingual font Gentium is well-documented at its own site.

Victor informed me that a Cyrillic version is under way and will be added in the near future.
On the afternoon of the same day, I met Huda Smitshuijzen Abifares, author of the book Arabic Typography, Zeina El Abed and Nathalie Fallaha graphic designers from Lebanon, and Habib Khoury graphic and typeface designer from Palestine.
However, when I am designing the Cyrillic version of Gentium, I am trying to design a Cyrillic typeface that works on its own, but it matches well with Gentium Latin too.

In doing so, he modified the fundamental framework within which the law was understood.
The key concept in the theocratic jus gentium was the concept of sovereignty, a concept which only defined where authority lay, not in what authority might do.
The jus gentium which had been developed by theocratic thinkers in the sixteenth century exerted a powerful influence upon the future development of the European law-order.

ARTICLE - The Church as the People of god in lumen gentium - Douglas G. Bushman - Catholic Dossier - May/June 2000
The mention of the indelible impression is based on the understanding of the Church’s indefectibility.
The desire of the Council was to probe the first memories of the Church’s experience in order to put the prevailing theological structures to the test.7 This is the reason for the numerous biblical and patristic citations in Lumen Gentium.
These reports are the most important sources for determining the intended meaning of the texts.

I imagine that the word was at first a mere description of that constant levelling or removal of irregularities which went on wherever the praetorian system was applied to the cases of foreign litigants.
It is easy to understand how the difference in the point of view would affect the dignity of the term which at once described the operation of the old principles and the results of the new theory.
A vast number of other observances were scrutinised with the same result.

Ius Gentium: Natural Law or Positive Law? by Don Boland - Universitas Number 8 (2000)
In that regard, then, ius gentium resembles natural law rather than positive law.
But when natural law is taken in a broader sense of what is intrinsically suitable to human nature fully considered (what is within ethico-political science), ius gentium rather belongs to natural law than to positive law.
For "the law of nations is indeed in some way natural to man, in so far as he is a reasonable being, because it is derived from the natural law by way of a conclusion that is not very remote from its premises." [I-II, 95, a.

There seem to be two possible loci for a 'principle of ius gentium' - that is, an inclusive secular system of group orderings - in the state system: one in which each community can apply its own laws, and another in which each state can.
Jus gentium is a particularly apposite historical model, because it is inclusive: it can accommodate both secularly and religiously oriented systems.
Ius gentium does not impose any universal normative structure, but rather allows systems to operate according to their own norms; it is less about 'a right to rights' than about 'a right to a system.'

Zenit News Agency - The World Seen From Rome
Father Gumpel: "Lumen Gentium" is a dogmatic constitution, a document of the highest level of the ordinary magisterium and of the council, although in the end it added no new dogmatic definition.
The book was entitled "The Saints and Their Devotion," published in 1965 and translated in several languages.
To better understand the way in which this document was written, ZENIT interviewed Jesuit Father Peter Gumpel, who collaborated day by day in the drafting of the document.

THE SUBVERSION OF LUMEN GENTIUM - James Hitchcock - Catholic Dossier - May/June 2000
There is not the slightest doubt as to how the Church, in Lumen Gentium, understands itself, but here as elsewhere that understanding is every day subverted in thousands of little ways.
Two generations of Catholics have now been educated to believe that in effect it abolished the hierarchical conception of the Church, substituting in its place the idea of “the people of God,” which is then understood as essentially a democracy.
As Paul Goodman, a non-believing sociologist, once observed, many liberal Christians are engaged in a power struggle for control of the Church, which they regard as merely a valuable piece of real estate which no longer serves its traditional purpose but can be used for other, quite different, purposes.

MODULE 4: THEOLOGY OF THE CHURCH
Lumen Gentium presents the church as a mystery in a way that is generally faithful to the development of the notion in the Pauline literature of the New Testament.
The mystery, which is not simply a matter beyond our understanding but a vast sacred reality that has in fact been revealed to us, is the mystery of Christ, the plan for all things designed for eternity to take effect ‘in Christ’ (in Paul’s frequent phrase).
