Online information on Harmony is a bit scarce, a discovery made while working on the KDE 3.2 overview.
I was very opposed to this since inevitably there would be some features Qt would support that GTK would not (and vice versa, of course), and because there were all sorts of possible problems involving differences in event handling, inheritance of widgets and so forth.
It is a shame that with the best intentions, the project is withering away in favor of other reference implementations such as the X.org and freedesktop.org's Kdrive, X servers.

We wanted to produce a toolkit that a) made KDE free software, ending the divisive Gnome/KDE flamewar (which is why I chose the name Harmony in the first place).
I do, however, think that their work is no longer necessary, and indeed could become harmful to the free software community.
As far as I know it also now uses the same drag-and-drop protocol as gtk, and it should be easy enough to write Qt 2.0 themes which understand gtk theme configuration files.

There are seven possible diatonic triads in C major (see triads definition), so it is possible to harmonise any note of the C major scale with a triad that will make it consonant.
In this way, a triad imposes a hierarchy on melody by highlighting which notes are part of the harmony (consonant) and which are not (dissonant).
