Macintosh Plus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is a program called vMac that will emulate a Mac Plus on a variety of platforms, including Unix, Windows, DOS and Mac OS.
Scotty is handed the mouse, which he holds up to his mouth like a microphone and cheerfully says, "Hello computer!" The machine's owner directs him to the use the keyboard, which he calls "quaint" but quickly accomplishes the task.
This was the first time GUI versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint were introduced on any personal computer platform.

Apple Macintosh - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Macintosh, or Mac, line of personal computers is designed, developed, manufactured, and marketed by Apple Computer.
With the release of Intel-based Macintosh computers, the potential to natively run Windows based operating systems on Apple hardware without the need for software such as Virtual PC was introduced.
Current Macintosh computers use an ATI Radeon, nVidia GeForce or Intel GMA graphics processor and include either a Combo Drive, a DVD player and CD burner all in one; or the SuperDrive, a dual-function DVD and CD burner.

 Macintosh computer
The Macintosh computer was released in January of 1984, with 128K RAM of memory.
Except for the very expensive and unpopular Apple Lisa which came out in 1983, the Macintosh is considered to be the first commercially successful computer to use a GUI (Graphical User Interface), as seen above.
Most modern-day computers now operate on this principle, including modern Apple computers and most others which run the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Linux/m68k for Macintosh - Mac Plus hardware
This information is stored in the global variable MemTop, which contains the address (plus one) of the last byte in RAM.
Approximate transfer rates are 142K bytes per second for nonblind transfers and 312K bytes per second for blind transfers.
Note: The mouse is a relative-motion device; that is, it doesn't report where it is, only how far and in which direction it's moving.

 Mini vMac Emulated Hardware Reference
The floppy disk drives of the Macintosh Plus have a small hole into which a straightened paper clip can be inserted, which will force the floppy disk to be ejected.
A program such as "CopyRoms", when run on a real Macintosh Plus, will save this information to a file, which can then be transferred to the machine on which you want to run Mini vMac.
The save operation of a program for the Macintosh Plus would normally force changes to be written out to disk (and not just left in RAM caches).

 Profile: Mac Plus
The Plus does not support high density floppies, but it can be used with an external HD floppy drive as long as the disks used are 800K floppies.
Because the Mac Plus is convection cooled, you should never block the vents on the side or top of the computer.
All you need is an old Mac Plus with 4 MB of RAM, a hard drive, System 7 or later, some free software, and an Internet connection.

 MicroMac MultiSpeed Accelerator
Macintosh Plus, SE or Classic with System 6.0.7, 7.0 or 7.1, optional anti-static grounding strap (available at most computer hardware stores), torx screwdriver and case spreader (or medium flat-blade screwdriver) to open the computer's case.
If you want to go beyond 4MB, install Compact Virtual software (manufactured by Connectix Corporation) in combination with your existing memory on the logic board (motherboard) and the memory on the accelerator for a total of 8MB or 20MB (16MB system memory and 4MB fast RAM disk).
You are required to install at least four ultra-fast (60ns) 1MB SIMMs onto the MultiSpeed accelerator; however, you can install up to 16MB of system memory on your Plus, SE or Classic so you can run a significantly larger System file and/or more programs simultaneously.

Image-Pro Plus is suitable for any research or industrial application where analysis of an image can help the user to understand processes, make comparisons, or identify objects.
Analytical image processing has been dominated by PC software packages, including Image-Pro Plus for Windows, leaving Macintosh users with limited options for high-powered image processing and analysis software.
In addition, Image-Pro Plus provides users with easy software installation, improved and easier to use Draw, Text, and Fill tools, and an image gallery for image storage.

Mini vMac - a miniature Macintosh emulator
(The Mac Plus ROM supports the 68020, and vMac for Macintosh emulates a 68020 instead of a 68000.) Much of the implementation is adapted from the "UAE Amiga Emulator", mostly as found in the vMac source.
The main reason for emulating a Mac Plus 68020 is as a stepping stone to emulating the Mac II.
Having the Mac Plus 68020 working as well as it does so far will make it easier to write testing software to make a correct 68020 implementation.

History of computer design: Macintosh Plus
Over the course of its production, its colour changed from the original Macintosh's brown to introduce a warm grey known as "platinum" which was favoured by frogdesign and would be the colour of every following desktop computer from Apple until the mid-1990s (Kunkel, 61).
Manock and Oyama's physical design remained largely intact even for this machine, but within it was clearly more suited for a business market.
Frogdesign made a few small changes to the original design of the case, embedding port icons into the plastic and reducing the plastic barrier that Manock had added so as to allow more standard cables to be attached.
