Map protection - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Most protection methods work by altering a copy of a map, removing information that the campaign editor requires to open the map but is not required by the game to play the map.
Map protection is a process by which custom Starcraft and Warcraft III maps can be rendered unopenable by official campaign editor included with the game (StarEdit and the Warcraft III World Editor, respectively).
The map script file is easy, as files go, to read in a text editor such as Windows Notepad.

Taking the Map protection off - SecureGamers
I'm always looking for good map unprotection programs, mostly because I believe there is much to be learned on triggering styles of effective mappers (and of course, looking at the JASS scripts isn't really as helpful as looking at the GUI Trigs) and because I like the idea of open source maps.
He forgot to protect his triggers and his other units so when I open the map [ I open my map with a special program] I can view the triggers, units and the rest.
Anyways, ppl that create programs like this are more than slightly unwilling to just unload them on the general public (with good reason, junk maps would flood b.net, with all sorts of people assuming credit for work they didn't do) and so I'm generally unwilling to help people steal maps as well.

Brian Jones: Office XML Formats : MS Office Open XML Formats and OpenDocument XML format
These new formats open up all kinds of possibilities for those partners, or anyone else out there, to build solutions to map from our formats into any of the other XML formats out there (there are tons of them!).
Because both formats are open and documented, it is possible to create a transform (or filter) that goes between the two.
This is where the similarity between the two formats stops though: Our primary goal at Microsoft was to create an open format that fully represented all of the features that our customers have used in their existing documents, documents that have been created using the existing Office products over the past couple decades.

[any phonetic segment] + [any vowel] + [z]: The portion of the map corresponding to the given pattern shows that informant 38 accords with the other 5 informants in this environment almost all the time, and in the two environments where he uses ɜ he also uses the 'standard' vowel.
[t] + [any vowel] + [any phonetic segment]: As above, the portion of the map corresponding to the given pattern shows that informant 38 accords with the others in this environment almost all the time, and the few ɜ-instances are variants of 'standard' ones.
In the course of doing this for the vowels, we found that the open-mid central vowel [ɜ] was both sparingly represented in the corpus relative to many other vowels --29 as against several hundred-- and that informant 38 was prominent in his use of it.

Class notes CS251B Open Address Hashing
Open addressing hashing works on the same principle as other types of hashing; that is, it uses a hashing function h and the key of a datum x to map x to h[key(x)], and the values are s tored in a table.
The example ignores the fact that open address hash tables should be ONLY filled to around 20% of capacity.
Just as with chaining, unsucessful search in open addressing takes O(1) expected time under the same computational model (assumption 2).
