Procedure - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In computer science, procedure is a subprogram, generally one which returns or is intended to return no direct result to its caller, and a stored procedure is a series of instructions that are stored within a database.
In mathematics and science, a procedure, or algorithm, is a sequence of tasks or calculations that accomplish some goal.
Following a procedure should produce repeatable results for the same input conditions.

The procedure may also be used to remove a deceased fetus, resulting from a miscarriage, that is developed enough to require dilation of the cervix for extraction.
In the medical field intact dilation and extraction is sometimes referred to as a DandX procedure (not to be confused with the DandE procedure dilation and evacuation, in which the fetus is dismembered before being removed from the womb).
The dialation and extraction procedure is used after 21 weeks gestation.

Parliamentary procedure refers to the rules of democracy—that is, the commonly accepted way in which a group of people come together, present and discuss possible courses of action, and make decisions.
Parliamentary procedure is used by all types of decision-making bodies on a daily basis: school boards, homeowners' associations, city councils, and non-profit boards of directors, for example.
Fundamentally, parliamentary procedure defines how groups of people, no matter how formal or informal, can most effectively meet and make decisions in a fair, consistent manner—and make good use of everyone's time.

 Civil procedure - Free Encyclopedia
Civil procedure is the written set of rules that sets out the process that courts will follow when hearing cases of a civil nature (a "civil action").
In the United States, the model for most state courts is the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, first adopted on September 16, 1938 before which time there were varying rules that governed different types of civil cases such as cases at law or in equity or in admiralty.
There are exceptions to the types of cases that these rules now control but they are few in number and somewhat esoteric (e.g., "prize proceedings in admiralty").
