WCDMA radio traffic channels are allocated by the controllers in the RNC 26 and physically implemented by base station 28 over the radio interface to the mobile station 30 as indicated in block 60.
A radio access bearer is a logical connection with the mobile station through the UTRAN and over the radio air interface and corresponds to a single data stream.

In contrast, a purchase contract allows a radio station to determine the scheduling of a program, whether or not a time frame is suggested by the program distributor, and thus does not constitute a formal reserved time commitment.
In consideration of the comments by the CAB and Westcom, the Commission will consider programs that are received live by the local station and broadcast on a tape delay basis to be live programs unless the tape delay is at least equal to the duration of the actual program or one hour, whichever is less.
Formal reserved time exists where a radio broadcaster, as a condition of the acquisition of all or parts of a program, is required by a formal agreement to broadcast the program at a specified time or within specified time frames.

In the case of cellular base station transmitters, at a frequency of 869 MHz (the lowest frequency used), the FCC's RF exposure guidelines recommend a maximum permissible exposure level of the general public (or exposure in "uncontrolled" environments) of about 580 microwatts per square centimeter (µW/cm2), as averaged over any thirty-minute period.

Cognitive radio: a smarter way to use radio frequencies — JSCMS
Traditionally, radios were hardwired to operate at a particular power and frequency, and once a station was assigned a frequency, no other station could use it.
This process of negotiation is the concept behind a technology called cognitive radio, a way to share unused spectrum.
Over the years, as engineers built radios in cheaper and smaller packages, it became possible to build intelligence into them, making the idea of sharing frequencies possible.

Packet radio is so called because digital information prepared on a computer is converted to short, swift audio bursts ("packets") by a "terminal node controller" or "packet controller," and transmitted through a radio to another location where a similar station delivers it error-free to the receiving computer.
Radio stations and telephone modems are connected to computers operating special bulletin board software which then communicate automatically with each other passing administrative and health data and statistics.
Additional networking power may be realized by linking packet radio in terrestrial and/or space environments with ordinary dial-up telephone links using FidoNet and Fido-compatible software ("Fido" refers both to the network of personal computer users as well as to the original mailer software used on the network).

After a translator goes on the air, no matter where it is in relation to a complaining full-power station, the FM station can have the translator permit or license cancelled if it can demonstrate, again through producing statements by affected listeners, that the translator is interfering with reception of the FM station.
To show that listeners outside a full-power FM's service area will be adversely affected, a petitioning station must produce sworn statements from actual listeners within the service area of the proposed translator.
Arbitron survey data showing that an FM station has listeners within certain ZIP codes in the translator service area have been held insufficient because, the Commission says, such data do not establish where survey respondents do their listening.
