Download Times New Roman Font Family - Linotype.com
As the old type used by the newspaper had been called "Times Old Roman," Morison's revision became "Times New Roman." The Times of London debuted the new typeface in October 1932, and after one year the design was released for commercial sale.
The Linotype version, called simply "Times," was optimized for line-casting technology, though the differences in the basic design are subtle.
And because it is a standard font on most computers and digital printers, it has become universally familiar as the office workhorse.

Usability News - 2.2 - 2000 -- So, What Size and Type of Font Should I Use on My Website?
By far the two most common types of fonts currently used on the Web are the serif font, Times New Roman (TNR) and the sans serif font, Arial.
One reason for this could be that at smaller font sizes on computer screens, the serifs stop acting as distinguishers and start becoming visual 'noise.' Moreover, small anti-aliased fonts may create even more visual noise because of the smoothing effects of the anti-aliased font.
In the past, it has been determined that serif fonts, which have ornamental strokes at the tip and base of each letter, are easier to read on paper than sans serif fonts, which do not have serifs.

 TextFiles Package
Character encodings can be defined by supplying an appropriate encoding type to the TextFile, as seen in the above.
When dealing with (potentially encoded) text files, changing the 'file position' is a somewhat tricky problem since the correlation between the position of the TextFile and the position of the underlying stream is not necessarily 1:1.
Some encodings (such as UTF-8) have similar effects, splitting a character into a sequence of bytes, or merging a sequence of bytes into a single character.
