SourceForge, says John T. Hall, vice president for strategic planning at VA Linux, is close to eclipsing IBM as the world's largest community of software programmers.

 The Java Network Simulator
The source is available by CVS and as a zip file available from the JNS SourceForge site I am currently looking to add enough features to JNS for it to be a viable tool for network research.
The latest version available from sourceforge is version 1.7.

 Parchive: Parity Archive Tool
Topics range from dictionary based recovery of PXX files themselves, multi-segment approaches that allow each PXX file to do more work, authentication of PXX archives, and the finer points of the algorithm itself.
Version 2.0 of the file specification is maturing as we now have two working clients, with more on the way.

Mark Heath has written some extra tools for the mjpegtools: an averaging frame rate converter, an interlace to temporal order converter, a watermark detection and removal tool and a simple black fader.
